The Getty is honored to present the 2018 J. Paul Getty Medal-which recognizes extraordinary contributions to the practice, understanding, and support of the arts-to Agnes Gund, president emerita of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and chair of its International Council; Thelma Golden, director and chief curator of the Studio Museum in Harlem; and renowned sculptor Richard Serra.

Eric lopresti: An Ocean of light

Burning in Water - NY is pleased to present a solo show of new work by Eric LoPresti. The exhibition encompasses several types of work, including large paintings on linen, mixed media works on paper and altered digital photographs. Eric is a Brooklyn-based artist whose quintessential subject is the “atomic landscape” of the American West.

Artist Borinquen Gallo discusses the art from her exhibition Like a Jungle Orchid for a Lovestruck Bee at Burning in Water Gallery in New York City. Born in Rome to parents of Puerto Rican and Italian descent, Gallo relocated as an adolescent to the South Bronx, where she continues to live and maintains her studio.
